On Saturday February 29th over 90 people sat down in Balderton Methodist church hall anticipating a real treat. They were not to be disappointed.
Tables covered with lovely embroidered tablecloths were set with fine bone china for the food and tea/coffee to come, and sweet music played quietly in the background.
For the first course the kitchen team had prepared dainty sandwiches (no crusts naturally) of salmon and mayo, cream cheese and grape, coronation chicken, and also egg and watercress wraps, plus quiche and crisps.
For the second course posset/mousse was served plus scones with cream and red preserve, and the final course was a selection of homemade cakes to die for. Absolutely delicious!
For nearly 2 hours good conversation and tea had flowed, and with many compliments to the kitchen ladies (and gentlemen helpers) for the excellent menu and their hard work, the guests went home. Well done BMC!
