Christmas comes early to Balderton
December 14th – 16th was our annual Christmas wreath display in church. We exhibited 78 wreaths made by businesses and individuals from our community. Again we were staggered by people’s ingenuity as they produced personalised wreaths using a range of man made and natural materials. A donation of £89 will be sent to Beaumond House. We would like to thank all people who contributed to the display and look forward to repeating it again next year – so get your creative ideas ready!!
It was lovely to host Chuter Ede school choir and Voices to our annual Carol service which was led by Rev. Peter Bates – who brought along his Christmas present TV to illustrate his talk (listen to the Podcast!). New and traditional carols were heartily sung during the service and the collection for Action for Children was £181.
The Monday Coffee morning was delighted to have a visit from some of the younger members of Highfields school to sing 2 of the songs they had learnt for their Nativity play. After confidently chatting to the people there over a drink and biscuits they went into church to ‘spot the wreath’ their school had made. It was lovely to see the young and ‘older’ people together and look forward to a repeat visit.
